BB-RefHe puts the bat on the ball, but without much power. He seems like a guy who is pretty good at a lot of things but exceptional at none.
A big, lumbering dude at 22, but he looks like a pretty good bat.
This guy came out of nowhere and already looks like a stud with the bat. He could be something special.
Doesn’t look like he has a great arm behind the plate. His minor league play at C and LF implies that he’s a man without a position. That, and his apparent lack of speed, might relegate him to a DH role down the road.
BB-RefBryant’s a skinny guy, but he destroys the ball. He is for real.
He’s torn up the minors at every level, and if Spring Training 2015 didn’t make it any more obvious, this guy is already a great major league hitter. And as he gets older and smarter and bigger and stronger, he’ll only get better. At this point, the only reddish flag is his strikeouts. He just needs to keep that under control.
BB-RefNothing impressive here. He seems to be stagnating in the minors and needs to improve to have any chance of success at higher levels.
Here, he appears to be winking with both eyes.
An interesting guy to watch. He puts the bat on the ball, but doesn’t hit it hard. Will he ever? If I had to bet, I’d say no.
BB-RefHe might be a good catcher, but he can’t really hit. No prospect.
BB-RefDefinitely a major league bat. It’s really too bad he lost 2014 to injury. He was progressing nicely. Let’s hope he didn’t miss out on too much development, but it appears as if he might have.
At 6’4″ and 260 lbs, he’s a huge guy. Unless he is some sort of miracle worker with the glove, I can’t see him staying at SS or even 3B for very long. He’ll be a 1B/DH type.
BB-RefThis guy can crush. There’s no doubt he has major league power, he’s one of the best power prospects to come along in years. He’ll hit 30-40 homers a year with that big, loopy uppercut swing. But he has to be careful. Gallo will have to work hard to keep his average up and his strikeouts down.
Gallo’s getting called up today. Let’s see what happens.
